Who is Deon

 Educator/Professional Musician

As a husband, educator, and professional musician, I am deeply

committed to the educational success of all students in MVUSD. My

journey through sports and music, from elementary school to college

and beyond, has shaped my belief in the transformative power of a

well-rounded education. My passion for education and experience

working with children of all ages, including those with special needs,

drives my desire to serve on the MVUSD Board of Trustees. 

Growing up in a military family, we moved around a lot. 

My wife and I are thrilled to set down our family roots in Murrieta.

I bring fresh perspectives to the challenges we face. I will work

tirelessly to foster a safe, inclusive, and enriching environment for

every student. I believe in practical, common-sense solutions that

enhance the areas where MVUSD excels, such as the arts, while

addressing critical issues like bullying and economic challenges.

My top priorities include ensuring a healthy learning environment,

fiscal responsibility, and supporting our highly skilled staff. I am

committed to maintaining MVUSD as a district that encourages

intellectual growth, rational thinking, and a sense of community in

our schools. Your vote for me is a vote for a positive, impactful

future for our children and our families.

I deeply value public education and am forever grateful for the opportunities it provided me. I'm running for the School Board in Area 5 to ensure that ALL students receive the quality education they deserve. Our focus should not be on battling state or federal laws, but on finding meaningful ways to support our students, teachers, and staff to the fullest extent possible.
